We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our client's culinary team in Croydon. Our client is a fine dine restaurant with European cuisine.

The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality food is prepared and presented. This role requires a strong understanding of kitchen practices, menu development, and team collaboration to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu planning
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
      • Prepare and cook high-quality meals while maintaining consistency and presentation
        • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain kitchen efficiency
          • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes and seasonal menus
            • Monitor kitchen performance and provide feedback to team members for continuous improvement

              Qualifications

              • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen
                • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
                  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
                    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
                      • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
                        • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
