We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our client's culinary team in Croydon. Our client is a fine dine restaurant with European cuisine.
The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality food is prepared and presented. This role requires a strong understanding of kitchen practices, menu development, and team collaboration to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu planning
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals while maintaining consistency and presentation
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain kitchen efficiency
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes and seasonal menus
- Monitor kitchen performance and provide feedback to team members for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
